Letting Information
- Projects are advertised in the Pontiac Daily Leader, usually ten days prior to the letting.
It will also be advertised in the IDOT bulletin on the two Thursdays prior to the letting
date. - Federally Funded Projects are let by IDOT in Springfield.
- MFT, County & Township Funded Projects are let by the Livingston County Highway
Department in our office. Bids are typically opened by the County Engineer, but may be
opened by an approved proxy in his absence. - Highway Committee reviews letting results and recommends approval to the full county
board, usually on the first Tuesday of each month, which then goes to the County Board
the following week for approval. Signed documents are then returned to the Highway
Department.
