School Board of Education Members Consolidated Election – April…

Livingston County Clerk, Kristy Masching announces that nominating petition forms for the April 1, 2025 school board elections are now available.  Petition packets may be picked up at the Livingston County Clerk’s Office, 112 W. Madison Street, Pontiac, on any business day between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.  The Historic Courthouse will be closed for the following holidays: Monday, September 2: October 14; Tuesday, November 5; Wednesday, November 11; Thursday, November 28; and Friday, November 29, 2024.  Petition forms may also be obtained from the County Clerk’s website here.

Candidate packets and filings which were previously processed through the school districts are now processed through the County Clerk’s Office.  The school districts whose candidates will be processed by the Livingston County Clerk’s office include:  Cornell Grade School District #426, Dwight Grade School District #232, Dwight High School District #230, Flanagan-Cornell District #74, Odell Grade School District #435, Pontiac Grade School District #429, Pontiac Twp. High School District #90, Prairie Central Unit District #8, Rooks Creek School District #425, Saunemin School District #438 and Woodland Unit School District #5J.

Filing Period – The School Board candidates required petition materials must be filed in the County Clerk’s office no earlier than 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 and no later than 5:00 p.m. on Monday, November 18, 2024.

Eligibility – To be eligible to serve, a school board member must be, on the date of election, a citizen of the United States, at least 18 years old, a registered voter, and a resident of the State of Illinois and the school district for at least one year immediately preceding the election.  Elections are nonpartisan and board candidates do not indicate a political party affiliation.
