The coroner’s main duties are to determine the cause and manner of death of individuals who die suddenly, unexpectedly or in a suspicious manner. This may also include victims of trauma by accidental, mechanical means or violence. These deaths may be in a public place, in a workplace or at home without benefit of a doctor’s care.
