The Assessment Office is responsible for maintaining records on all property located in the county, and compiling all sales data on properties. The supervisor of this office has the authority to change an individual assessment and to equalize by class and/or township as well as administering all real estate property tax exemptions. Additional information regarding this department is available on the "Know Your County Government" page of this site.
THE LIVINGSTON COUNTY ASSESSMENT OFFICE We would like to invite you to visit our web site at the above address. This site has been set up as a two tier system as described below.
Option one is a Basic Search. This can be accessed by anyone at no charge. You will be able to search by property index number or by property address. The data available with this option is as follows: property owner, property address, legal description, lot size/acreage, market values, age and square footage of hte structure, last recorded sale and current taxes.
Option two is the Advanced Search. This will require a password and an annual fee of $120 ($10/mo.). With this option you will be able to search by owner name, PIN or property address. In the advanced search, you will have access to all the data available in the basic search as well as the following: property record card, sketches, pictures, prior sales, and a 5 year tax history. You will also be able to do detailed sale searches as well.
The motion was just approved at the August 14, 2003 Livingston County Board meeting to officially put the site back up. There are some programming changes that need to be made before it will be available for access. We are very optimistic that this can be done by the first part of September.
If you wish to apply for a password, please print and fill out the application form and return it to our office at 211 E. Madison St., Suite 2, Pontiac, IL 61764 along with a check for $120.00 payable to the Supervisor of Assessments. You will then be contacted by our office with your password. Only one password is needed for each business.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our office at 815-844-7214.
Please Note: We currently have data available for 28 of the 30 townships on line. The 2 missing are Dwight and Forrest, which will be added later.
