The County Treasurer is responsible for preparing and mailing tax bills for each parcel of real estate and for each mobile home assessed in the county.  In addition, duties include collecting and distributing tax monies to the appropriate taxing authorities, collecting and distributing any special assessments filed by drainage districts, preparing a final collection report on all real estate taxes to submit to the state and sending individual drainage district reports to the State Comptroller. During the year, this office also holds a tax sale, invests county funds, and works with Bookkeeping in processing bills and keeping the County Board informed of the county's financial status.

Additional information regarding this department is available on the "Know Your County Government" page of this site.
