The State's Attorney's office is not only in charge of prosecuting criminal matters, but also serving as legal counsel to the county government in civil matters. This office also contains a Victim Witness Coordinator who is in charge of processing requests for orders of protection and addressing the needs and rights of victims of criminal offenses.
